Dr. Amory de Roulet, MD MPH is a general surgeon double board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care. A native of New York, Dr. de Roulet pursued medical and graduate school at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California where he earned a combined Medical Degree (M.D.) as well as a Master in Public Health (M.P.H.) with a focus on biostatistics and epidemiology. He completed internship and general surgery residency at New York Presbyterian/Queens, Weill Cornell Medical College followed by a fellowship in trauma, emergency general surgery, and surgical critical care at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on trauma, injury, resuscitation, shock (sepsis and hemorrhagic), and the development of trauma prevention programs. He has multiple peer reviewed manuscripts published in major medical journals and has delivered presentations at regional and international conferences. Prior to moving to the Virgin Islands, Dr. de Roulet worked as a trauma and acute care staff surgeon at MGH in Boston and Salem, Massachusetts.
Dr. de Roulet arrived in St. Thomas in January 2025 to join the team of physicians and surgeons at Roy Lester Schneider Hospital. He is appointed Director of the Intensive Care Unit and works as an attending intensivist in the medical and surgical ICU. Dr. de Roulet is a clinical surgeon in the Department of Surgery at RLS hospital for emergency general and trauma surgery. In additional to his inpatient clinical responsibilities, Dr. de Roulet maintains a general surgery and wound care clinic.
When not at the hospital or in clinic, Dr. de Roulet is with his wife and kids enjoying life in the beautiful Virgin Islands.
